One of the oldest and best pieces of jewelry I have ever came across in my career and listed for you at a fraction of the price that something of this caliber would normally sell for. Crafted all by hand sometime around the mid 1800’s out of vibrant and buttery patina 15k yellow gold (no hallmarks but has been acid and X-ray tested shown in picture #44) is a vicious and menacing style snake bracelet. Encrusted with old cut style blue and pink sapphires prong set throughout and hand carved features this is a truly remarkable and museum quality piece of old artisan craftsmanship. Built tough with a heavyweight of 44.2g the bracelet best fits the most comfortable for 6”-7” with the opening and tightest part of the bracelet measuring approximately 2.2” across and 1.9” top to bottom. From tip of the snakes face to the tail it measures around 70mm and the chunkiest roundest part of the bracelet approximately 12mm. From the tail going up it alternates one to another from pink sapphire to blue sapphire until forming one section of pink and one section of blue with the largest stone measuring approximately 6mm x 8mm (1.21ct) and the smallest around 3mm (.15ct). With a hinged style opening and push lever locking system of the time it’s amazing to see this bracelet still in magnificent functioning order just as it was over 170 years ago. Despite its age it’s still in wonderful shape but with a couple of smaller dents on the bottom side of the bracelet and very slight splitting on only one half inch side of the bracelet as it was pieced together in two halves (shown in picture #41 & 42) which will not effect the overall bracelet negatively. It also looks as if just one pink sapphire was replaced (shown in picture #53) so I have still drastically reduced the price due to the piece not being in absolute perfect condition but I assure you if youre into old jewelry you’re familiar with small conditions like this and you will be in love as soon as you get this one in hand. Once it’s sold I will be quite sad to see it go as I’m positive I will never find one quite like this ever again.
