Where fine art and jewelry mix this is one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever laid eyes on. Years and years of expert techniques and practices to make such a piece like this. Cloisonné enameling is an ancient decorative technique that involves attaching metal wires to a base to create compartments, then filling them with enamel. The word "cloisonné" comes from the French word cloisons, meaning "partitions". The process is complex and requires multiple firings to build up the glass layers. The finished piece is then ground and polished to create a flat surface with visible cloison edges. Linda Lundell is a master at her craft and worked on a commission only basis charging several thousands of dollars to make pieces like this eagle here in the early 2000’s. Crafted out of all solid and heavy 14k yellow gold weighing a hefty 31.3g with the most radiant of colors and measuring 1.15” x 1.5” there were not many of these made and this is being sold at a ridiculous deal for a piece you can be sure of you’ll never see again.
