Mid-Century French 18k Yellow Gold Natural Diamond And Ruby A.Augis Love Poem Medallion (27MM)

One of the most coveted pieces of jewelry in the scene today is this extremely rare and beautiful solid 18k yellow gold French hallmarked A. Augis signed love token medallion. In 1907, the Lyonnais jewelry’ Alphonse Augis created a love token based on the poem “Les Vieux” written by Rosemonde Gérard to her husband Edmond Rostand in 1889. Pulled from the poem is the phrase “More than yesterday, less than tomorrow.” With the natural Diamond set plus sign representing the word “More” and the Ruby encrusted minus sign representing the word “Less” as the French translation of Qu’hier (than yesterday) Que Demain (than tomorrow) are in raised lettering. There are quite a few variations made with this ruby set halo border and largest variation made measuring 27MM x 30.5mm and weighing in at 7.27g being the most collectible and expensive on the market. When and if you can find these they are selling for a substantially higher value than what this is priced at. A true collectors dream piece.
