The double Albert watch chain is characterized by having two equal lengths of chain attached to the T-bar. The original use for this wonderful piece back in 1917 when this chain was made was for one chain to hold the pocket watch, as the other was used to hold the watch key to wind the movement as the T-bar would then be affixed to the vest button hole and the center spring ring hanging next to it for fobs, charms, and talismans to bring out the character of the owner. You could tell a lot from a wearer just by their specific watch chain just like you could today by the different ways someone might wear or style their chains as well. Crafted out of a solid 14k yellow gold by N.Y.C & B.M Co. in 1917 this thick heavyweight curb link style chain is equipped with each piece of hardware being thicker, heavier, and larger than the average with proper working functioning order and spring back. Very versatile with numerous ways to wear this chain the mustache style T-bar (1.8” long) and spring ring combo is fully stationary in the exact middle of the necklace allowing for a hanging drop to wear your pendants and charms (as shown with this coin pendant in picture #13). At a wearable necklace length of 22.5” with 1” drop of the t-bar and spring ring combo and 3.5mm wide x 1.75mm thick and with the entirety of the piece weighing in at a whopping 31.3g the dog clip has a full 360 degree spinning eyelet which is one of the most sought after features when finding these antique watch chains.
