With the front of the coin featuring the Hapsburg Sheild with Toledo (T) mint mark on right and original assayer (M) to the left reading above FEENANDVS ET ILISABET. The back depicting a tied grouping of arrows next to yoke reading the titles of the rulers in Latin. Now as I mentioned the meat and potatoes of this coin and one you will not see anywhere else that still has me at a loss is the retrograded (backwards) stamped “R” underneath the mint mark “T”. Now these coins were used for many many years after because of their quality and would be restruck later with different mint marks to prevent counterfeiting and reissue but also certain personal assayers had their own dyes and would often make errors or stamp their so called “signature” to accomplish the same reissuing. This perfectly struck backwards R could be any of of those reasons and whoever can crack that code might have a small fortune on their hands. I read that there was an assayer later at the very sought after Granada mint by the name of Román who had a backwards R stamp but this specific coin is from Toledo mint. The counterstrike is so perfect that you can’t see it from the opposite side which rarely happened on these specific coins. Custom set in a solid 14k aged patina yellow gold bezel and made for this exact coin sometime 30-40 years ago. With a total weight of 6.2g and a measurement of approximately 1.5” x 1.25” and an inner carabiner style bail opening of about 5mm.
